| Abstract: | Time for a Change! This month sees the launch of a new research service from CBDi Forum focused on application delivery and integration and a change of name for the Component-Based Development Journal. For some years now we have been predicting that the future of applications is going to be a combination of ‘build’ and ‘buy’. So, we think the time is right to put our money where our mouth is and show how ‘build and buy’ are coming together. It is unfortunate that the most widely known acronym referring to software components, CBD, should actually misrepresent the full scope of the activity. ‘Developing’ components is only one part of the overall space. | ||
