Title: IBM – Can it Contain the Transaction Explosion?
Author: Lawrence Wilkes
Publication Date: 1 November 1999
Report Type: Interact
Abstract: A assessment of IBM's strategy and implications for their existing customers. In the ‘Transaction Explosion’ report, I suggested there will be an explosion in the number of transactions that organisations must execute at the same time as organisations need to ensure the accuracy and integrity, of information in real-time. IBM mainframes dominated the last explosion in transactions, is there any reason for IBM’s customers to jump ship this time around?
