Managing the Transition to E-Business The issues of managing the ‘bricks and mortar’ business, together with the e-business-based operation, are likely to be considerable. Putting the technologists in charge seems like a recipe for reduced customer service, and bizarre business practices that lose customers. Business managers urgently need to understand sufficiently about the technology, in order not to abdicate responsibility for core business matters.
