CBDi Forum Journal -May 1999 Open Applications Group (OAG) The OAG was formed in 1995 by a small group of, then, leading package vendors, partly in recognition that the lack of interoperability between their applications was holding back their adoption by user organisations, struggling to integrate them through a diversity of proprietary mechanisms. In response to this, they developed the OAG Integration Specification (OAGIS) that describes processes and data definitions to enable compliant applications to more easily exchange information, and be integrated into cross-functional business processes.
