Product Overview – I/O Exchange from PRL Before Compaq acquired it, Digital had a very strong reputation for excellence in middleware engineering. I still refer to the Middleware Source Book, written by Digital engineers and published by the Digital press. Today, a small group of ex-Digital folk run PRL Scotland, specialists in middleware-based distributed systems that is now bringing a complete line of integration software tools to market. The PRL product line is called I/O Exchange and is based on an elegant architecture that, CBDi Forum believes, reflects state-of-the-art in the integration product market.
