| Abstract: | A business viewpoint on the need for application integration. By now, it should not be necessary to repeat the mantra of the need to implement e-commerce and e-business solutions in order to be competitive in the new millennium. We all know we have to do it. This article focuses on some of the potential failure points of e-commerce/e-business systems, due to lack of integration with other operational systems within the company, or across the extended supply chain. Rather than focus on the technology and techniques of integration this report examines some of the business impact of integration, or lack of it. | ||
