Title: CBDi Forum Journal - June 1998
Author:
Publication Date: 14 March 2001
Report Type: Interact
Abstract: Managing the Change to CBD Component Based Development is, of course, primarily about new technologies and methods. But just as important are the changes in business practices, including: how components are funded; how organisations need to change; and what needs to happen to the culture in both IT and business organisations. In the paper on CBD Maturity Levels in this edition of the Journal, we introduced the notion of ‘levels’ of CBD. CBDi Forum emphasise that lower levels can be achieved with no significant change in business practice, but the higher levels: implementing high levels of investment; sharing; reuse; and acquisition, will not be achieved without significant change.
