CBDi Forum Journal - February 1998 Components in the News JavaBeans are Starting to Grow-Up! In December 1997, Sun Microsystems announced that the draft Enterprise JavaBeans specification is now available for public review. To date, the JavaBean concept has been purely applicable to client components. The Enterprise JavaBeans specification defines an Application Programming Interface (API) that will bring JavaBeans to the server and, hence, cross-platform, mission-critical, component-based enterprise applications.
