CBDi Forum Journal - December 1998 Creating Components from Legacy Applications Over-subscription to the November SIG meeting demonstrated a tremendous level of interest in the subject of legacy componentisation. However, the meeting demonstrated that, as usual, there is a wide variation in objectives and scenarios for legacy componentisation that itself creates the wide interest, and also, as usual, there is no silver bullet for reusing legacy systems as components. There was a certain sense of déjà vu at the legacy SIG meeting. With each paradigm shift, the question was asked of how to transition the then current portfolio of systems.
