CBDi Forum Journal - December 1997 Components in the News Unified Modelling Language (UML) Becomes a Standard? Feedback from the OMG meeting in Dublin at the end of October indicates that the Unified Modelling Language (UML) will be formally ratified, and vendors are scrambling to announce support for the UML notation. The positive side of the UML is that it does provide us with a standard notation. Therefore, it will make it somewhat easier to share models, redeploy people resources and interoperate disparate tools and environments, albeit at a superficial information interchange level.
