| Abstract: | CBDi Forum Journal - December 1997 Components are a Business Issue Every new technology that comes along is surrounded by claims that it will revolutionise business life and replace everything that went before it. As a result, many organisations have grown wary of excessive marketing - remember client/server? Consequently, we now run the risk that truly innovative thinking may be ignored or misunderstood - "Oh no, not another silver bullet!" Most ‘silver bullets’ require radical surgery. Out with the old, in with the new - it’s an all or nothing approach. Unfortunately, real world business priorities have less to do with the technology and more to do with transition. | ||
