| Abstract: | CBDi Forum Journal - August 1998 In a recent survey of CBD Forum members, 96% of the respondents saw their existing systems as a source of components. This is massively reinforced by the high levels of interest in the subject of Legacy Integration at SIG meetings and in many discussions with Forum members. This level of attention is interesting because the effort in componentising existing systems that were never designed to be reused, is likely to be considerable. Though the effort will usually be worth it, handling this diverse source of components will usually present a major challenge.
