CBDi Forum Journal - April 1998 Book Reviews ‘Understanding UML - The Developer’s Guide’ Paul Harmon and Mark Watson (Morgan Kaufmann Publishers, Inc, 1998; ISBN 1-55860-465-0) From the title, this book looks like a good way to get to grips with UML and to understand how this relates to Java development. However, in practice, the book is a simple introduction to object-oriented project approaches using one specific modelling tool to illustrate the process. But, because the UML is not a methodology, the authors provide their own guidance which is rather irrelevant to the use of the UML.
