| Abstract: | I often refer to SOA as an architectural style. The essence of the style is clear separation between a provider and consumer. But if SOA is the style, we also need a concept that helps us implement the style – and that’s the service. Concepts allow us to recognize objects as one of a kind; to be able to discriminate and classify them. Both the style and concept are therefore entirely independent of specific implementations and could be implemented in a variety of technologies. In addition to an understanding of style and concept, we also need patterns and practices. | ||
