| Abstract: | Editorial commentary on the relationship between SOA and BPM | ||
| Backgrounder: | Last year we heard much discussion about SOA and BPM. The debate ranged from "a new front in the war between business and IT", to "two sides of the same coin; joined at the hip". Richard Veryard summarized this conflict quite nicely by suggesting that: BPM and SOA are not tightly coupled. It is possible to have BPM without SOA; and it is possible to have SOA without BPM. There is synergy between BPM and SOA. There are some potential advantages from combining BPM with SOA, which are not available from BPM alone or SOA alone | ||
