| Title: | XML Web Service Standards Update | ||
| Author: | Lawrence Wilkes | ||
| Publication Date: | 29 November 2001 | ||
| Report Type: | |||
| Abstract: | This report provides a guide to the various protocols that are being proposed as standards for XML Web Services. It is now over a year since SOAP, WSDL, UDDI were first proposed as the base protocols for XML Web Services. Though they will pass through the proper standards process, they have already effectively become de facto standards. Recently, there has been a surge of proposals for additional standards that should make the use of XML Web Services more robust, secure and suitable for a wider range of scenarios. | ||
