Report Summary
Title: Towards the Agile CBD Process
Author: David Sprott
Publication Date: 23 October 2001
Report Type:
Abstract: Although component based platforms and technologies such as EJB and COM+/.NET are now de facto standards, it is clear that component based thinking is only now starting to permeate beyond the technology layer. Many people ask me "where are the CBD processes and methods?" We are encouraged by the availability of industrial strength, commercially available processes and frameworks for CBD, as well as new products that extend the envelope and demonstrate how component and service based thinking really does deliver agile systems. The reports in this month's INTERACT demonstrate real progress in productization that will be of interest to the many organizations that we know recognize the real CBD opportunity, but are struggling with the complexities of the basic concepts. The good news is that you don't need to invent this particular wheel any more; it's been done already.
