Report Summary
Title: Component Management And Reuse - Part One
Author: Lawrence Wilkes
Publication Date: 15 August 2001
Report Type:
Abstract: After many years of evolution, reuse is now central to the software delivery process. Components form a major part of this reuse, but increasingly an asset perspective is proving most effective, where the component is one, very important type of asset. Whilst we have reported continuously on developments in this area, we feel the time is right for an intensive analysis of how the de facto application delivery process has evolved and to provide both frameworks and product assessments that reflect the current reality. The report is published in two parts. Part One provides a backplane and framework for reuse, identifying the new processes and products and types of solutions on offer. Part Two, which will be published in the September edition of INTERACT will identify, assess and compare in more detail the specific products and services.
