| Title: | Higher Order Component Standards Starting to Emerge? | ||
| Author: | David Sprott | ||

| Report Type: | |||
| Abstract: | Technical environment protocols are only the first layer of standards required for widespread component usage and reuse. Additional layers are essential to provide semantic and commercial context. Whilst many organizations have set their own standards and achieved considerable success with "internal" component based initiatives, there is a clear requirement for greater cross industry standardization to enable much wider reuse. In this report we examine important initiatives from Rational, ComponentSource, the OMG and others that we predict will have profound impact on the component market. | ||
