| Abstract: | As the market for software components takes off, we need to keep a sense of proportion. Enthusiasm for components is great, but if we allow a general laxity in the definition of components we will find many will be disappointed. Then like so many other trends before this one, the notion of components will be relegated to become "just another silver bullet". All we need to do is to apply simple, but rigorous rules to the definition of what is a component and we will smoke out the offenders. | ||
