| Abstract: |
In some future ideal world perhaps two enterprises with mature SOA environments will merge smoothly because they have already established the assets and governance practices that allow them to effect major change without drama. But the reality for 99% of enterprises is that that day is a long way off. So what’s needed is an approach to M&A that uses the SOA to upgrade the current blunt instrument approach to a more structured, architecture based process. |
| Backgrounder: |
Today M&A is probably the most disruptive, high risk event that a business willingly undertakes. Yet there is much evidence that there is widespread failure or at best suboptimal results. |
