| Abstract: | Voice user interfaces have been around for some time in several different guises. Some may have dabbled with voice recognition as input to word processing systems. Everyone has been a frustrated user of dial tone based Interactive Voice Response systems which are the ubiquitous interfaces to call centers. However voice recognition is now emerging as a mature, usable technology and is set to be a major growth area. In this report we look briefly at the current state of the technologies, and then some interesting developments in the reuse of voice components and services being undertaken by Fluency Voice Technologies and their parent company netdecisions. | ||
