A One Day Workshop for Service ArchitectsDocumenting Rich Service SpecificationsIntroductionDelivering a rigorous Service Specification is essential to SOA. The Service Specification should form the contract between Service Provider and Consumer, as well as between the Service and the implementation that supports it. Service description languages such as WSDL provide an accurate operational signature but do not convey the complete specification and models necessary to fully convey what capabilities the Service provides, the behavior of operations and their pre- and post-conditions that must be fulfilled in order to meet the contractual obligations on all participants. It is also necessary to specify not just the functional but also non-functional requirements so that all forms of contracts can be established and met, including Commercial, Quality of Service and Service Level Agreements (SLA). AudienceIT Architect, IT Program/Project Manager, Service Designer, other Senior IT professionals responsible for Service Specification ObjectivesUsing the CBDI Forum Service Specification Template and walking through examples, delegates learn how to model and document rich Service Specifications. A five day intensive workshop designed to get delegates active in SOA delivery in as short a time as possibleCombining Elements of the SOA Seminar, SOA for Business Analysts, and Delivering the Business Service Architecture workshopsIntroductionMany organizations commence SOA activity in a relatively unstructured fashion, within the scope of individual projects and with little attention to architectural principles. While this may deliver short term results in focused areas, it often fails to capitalize on the potential of SOA. Recognizing that time is an imperative for organizations, in one intensive workshop the SOA Fast Track is designed to ensure delegates understand how to deliver a Business Service Architecture that properly reflects business requirements in the specific context of SOA, such as improving business agility or ensuring enterprise-wide consistency in the execution of business activities. AudienceBusiness Analyst, IT Architect, IT Program/Project Manager, Service Designer, other Senior IT professionals involved in delivery of Service Architecture ObjectivesThis workshop has similar objectives to the Business Service Architecture and SOA for Business Analysts workshops in terms of content. The SOA Fast Track has the additional objective of combining these with sufficient understanding of SOA concepts into an intensive 5 day format to provide delegates with sufficient depth to commence immediate work on SOA delivery Outline AgendaThe topics to be covered include:
